Donald Trump plans to go more extreme: Trump plans to go much further than ever before in a potential second term

Donald Trump Has a Plan

Donald Trump went pretty far during his presidency, doing a lot of things previously thought unthinkable in American politics.

And as he prepares to run for president again, it appears Trump believes that he didn’t go far enough the first time.

“In 2016, I declared I am your voice,” Trump said this spring in his CPAC speech.

“Today, I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed, I am your retribution.”

Trump went further in a recent speech at a rally in Texas.

“Together, we are going to finish what we started,” the former president said. “With you at my side, we will totally obliterate the deep state, we will banish the warmongers from our government, we will drive out the globalists, and we will cast out the communists and Marxists, we will throw off the corrupt political class, we will beat the Democrats, we will rout the fake news media, we will stand up to the RINOs, and we will defeat Joe Biden and every single Democrat.”

According to The Washington Post, Trump has a lot on his second-term agenda that goes beyond what he did, or even proposed doing, in his first term.

The new policies floated include everything from using the military to fight street crime, purging the federal workforce, and more consequences for leakers.

Trump also has expressed support for a larger role for the federal government in education, including “school choice” proposals.

The former president has proposed putting down protests and civil unrest further, reportedly lamenting that he didn’t go further in the post-George Floyd protests in the summer of 2020.

“In cities where there has been a complete breakdown of public safety, I will send in federal assets, including the National Guard, until law and order is restored,” the ex-president said in his CPAC speech. “We will use all necessary state, local, federal and military resources to carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”

Trump has also floated such ideas as “building futuristic cities from scratch on unused federal land,” in the tradition of the cities built and proposed by Saudi Arabia. The plan would be to build ten such cities, which is said to be an idea that was favored by Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, although Kushner is not actively involved in the 2024 campaign.

“Where he earlier changed border policies to reduce refugees and people seeking asylum, he’s now promising to conduct an unprecedented deportation operation,” the Post said. “Where he previously moved to make it easier to fire federal workers, he’s now proposing a new civil service exam. After urging state and local officials to take harsher measures on crime and homelessness, Trump says he is now determined to take more direct federal action.”

As noted by the newspaper, this represents a major break from what conservative was largely understood to mean in the 40 years or so prior to Trump’s rise, most notably the small government ethos most often associated with Ronald Reagan. Instead, Trump proposes using the government more forcefully against those he dislikes.

Can Trump Do Any of This Legally if He Wins in 2024?

Needless to say, legal and constitutional questions have been raised about some of Trump’s ideas.

“As with so many things Trump, it’ll be sticky to sort out where what he’s proposing is literally unlawful, which some things would be, and where what he’s proposing would fly in the face of well-established and deeply principled norms,” Steve Vladeck of the University of Texas told the Post.

The Post story also got into what’s happening with the Trump campaign’s policy shop, led by former White House aide Vince Haley. He has been coordinating policy ideas with the Heritage Foundation, the Conservative Partnership Institute, and the Center for Renewing America.

So to be clear you don’t want to fix the massive problems created by essentially 3 Obama terms? Our govt selectively leaks information to hurt its political adversaries. Our federal workforce is a bloated mess that consumes untold mountains of treasury with nothing to show for it. Our intelligence services are routinely completely wrong and are obviously politicized. Our media outlets have CIA agents embedded in them feeding them state talking points. Our school systems are cesspools of political discourse and nonsensical trival education. This I know first hand as I have 4 children ranging from 14 thru 3 years old.

You don’t like Trump. Fine. He’s not radical. What IS RADICAL is the direction our country is headed in. The Govt is stirring we the people off the cliff while they have us distracted busy having us fighting each other.
