Joe Biden Just Made a Total Fool of Himself

A video of President Joe Biden declaring his love of ice cream made the rounds on social media on Monday evening and Tuesday morning. The 20-second-long clip, edited from Fox News Channel’s footage of the president’s Small Business Association’s Women’s Business Summit at the White House on Monday, could hardly be described as Biden’s finest moment.

Joe Biden’s Love of Ice Trends on Social Media: A video of President Joe Biden declaring his love of ice cream made the rounds on social media on Monday evening and Tuesday morning. The 20-second-long clip, edited from Fox News Channel’s footage of the president’s Small Business Association’s Women’s Business Summit at the White House on Monday, could hardly be described as Biden’s finest moment.

Joe Biden…Again

“My name is Joe Biden. (Laughter.) I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband.  (Laughter.)  And I eat Jeni’s Ice Cream, chocolate chip. (Laughter.) I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream.  (Laughter.),” reads the official White House Briefing Room transcript. “By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs. (Laughter.)  You think I’m kidding, I’m not.”

The laughter is so present in the clips that it almost could be mistaken for a laugh track – and Biden certainly played to the crowd, before turning his attention to Senator Ben Cardin (D-Maryland). The two men, who were colleagues for years, engaged in lighthearted banter.

Then Biden gets serious, addressing Monday afternoon’s tragic school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee, in which three children and three adults were senselessly murdered.

“Before I begin to speak, and the reason I spent a little time on the kids, I — I just want to speak very briefly about the school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee,” Biden noted.

“You know, Ben and I have been doing this our whole careers, it seems.  And it’s just — it’s sick.  You know, we’re still gathering the facts of what happened and why.  And we do know that, as of now, there are a number of people who are not going to — did not make it, including children,” the president continued. “And it’s heartbreaking. A family’s worst nightmare.”

What Is He Doing?

The president then used this tragedy to call for gun control, while also once again making it about his own suffering – mentioning his late son Beau Biden, who had served in combat in Iraq – before turning the focus back on the Women’s Business Summit.

During his speech, he made sure to mention again Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams.

“And by the way — by the way, it is splendid.  (Laughter.)  You think I’m joking.  If I were allowed to take you upstairs, we got a whole freezer full of Jeni’s chocolate chip ice cream.  (Laughter.),” Biden quipped. “You know, it’s pretty dull when you’ve been in public life as long as I have and you’re known for two things: chocolate chip ice cream and Ray-Ban sunglasses.  (Laughter.)  But what the hell, you know?”

Actually, Biden is known for three things, his love of ice cream, those Ray-Ban sunglasses, and his near constant gaffes (arguably a fourth would be his penchant for making up stories and telling outright lies). Monday’s comments could only be described as a blunder of epic proportions.

Very Poor Choice of Words – Hardly New

There is a case to be made that perhaps Fox News was a bit disingenuous as the clip suggested “Biden Addresses Deadly Nashville School Shooting” and failed to clarify that it wasn’t a press conference, and rather was an address to a previously planned White House business summit.

It was thus a staged event, and Biden’s “Ice Cream Speech” (as it should be forever known) had been written in advance, like many of Biden’s seemingly off-the-cuff talks.

However, someone in the White House should have to answer for why given the tragedy unfolding at the time that the speech wasn’t at least toned down. The answer is that Joe Biden is often inflexible and unwavering when it comes to his remarks, even when he wants to appear folksy. This is why he repeats his obviously made up stories like the one about his exchange with an Amtrak conductor or why he keeps telling the same lie that a private citizen couldn’t own cannons when the Second Amendment was drafted. Even when Biden is fact-checked, he continues to tell these stories and lies because he likes how it makes him look.

Biden Gets Another Pass

The Ice Cream Speech is no different. A wiser man, or at least one with a better team, would have taken a different course given the events that were unfolding.

Of course, the media’s response speaks volumes too. The fact checkers have gone out of the way to defend Biden – noting he wasn’t actually addressing the shooting directly

The case has been different for Republican politicians.

Remember when President George W. Bush was informed about the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon – he chose to keep reading to school children, as he didn’t want to upset them. Even as he may have had to worry about whether there could be more attacks, Bush remained calm and collected. He was a rock, but he was criticized for it. Michael Moore and others suggested that somehow he was in over his head, when anyone could tell Bush was in deep thought at that moment.

President Bush didn’t tell jokes, but he also didn’t overreact. He also didn’t have a moment to prepare before making his remarks.

By contrast, Biden had time to prepare.

Biden even went on to tell his planned jokes, for which he received cheers and laughs on Monday – both before and more importantly after his comments about the dead in Tennessee. And Biden ate it up, like it was a bowl of splendid ice cream.

Wow. This article couldn’t be more biased. That’s the final straw for 1945. Supposedly created to be non-biased, but the last seven articles I’ve read are all opinion pieces that are extremely biased.

While coffins are being prepared for six little children butchered by a cryptid-werewolf-animal-typical-member of the total pervert LGTBQ terror-forest “community”, likewise degenerate Pathetic Joe was joking about how much chocolate chip ice cream he has available at the White House. Hey Joe, I know of three children (and three adults) who will never be able to enjoy *any* ice cream again. And yeh, you probably let it melt and drink it thru a sippy cup before your 7:30 PM bedtime in your saggy butt trap-door & footies fleece pajamas. (Wonder if they are pink or blue. Hm, pink more likely, fits in with his LGBTQ munchkin minions.) Not only that, then predicably he goes on his usual ‘assault weapons ban’ rant. Despite the likely hundreds of assault weapons the Secret Service has him hide behind. (But of course, ordinary citizens can’t even have one for protection. ‘Cause Joe wants them all for himself.)

Such an absolutely biased article. Just pure crap. Give the man a break. He was trying to make others feel at ease considering the situation. Why don’t you talk about Trump and his concern about being “indicated” rather than “indicted.” He doesn’t even know he spelled the correct word incorrectly.

What else is new. Every time Biden opens his mouth he further demonstrates how totally incompetent and clueless he is. He is the worst President this country has ever had and I pray he doesn’t totally destroy this country in the time he has left in office. He needs to call the tragedy in Nashville for what it was, the act of a deranged transgender, not just another reason to push gun control.

Trump making a bigger fool of himself? Get serious, man!

“Goofball” Biden visited the small tornado-ravaged Mississippi town of Rolling Fork on Friday and twice referred to it as “Rolling Stone.” This man needs his head read!!

Is this the worst supposed gaffe that the right-wing pundits could throw at President Biden? That he makes jokes about loving chocolate ice cream at a Small Business summit that I believe included a company that makes chocolate ice cream, I’m not sure why this even deserves to be printed.
Every President from at least Truman’s time has made jokes. Timing may have not been the best, but who hasn’t said something inappropriate, or untimely.
The article also mentions made up stories that Biden supposedly said, but is Mr. Suciu insinuating President Biden really doesn’t love chocalote ice cream?

President Trump made great decisions for all USA citizens. What has Joe done but disgrace himself over and over and over again. He should have a little dignity and resign and take all those in the so called diverse administration with him to China where they can spend the millions they sold out to make big money and enjoy what they have sown. Take all your democratic party group think blah blah and grow up and get you a big dose of Truth, fact and equal application of our laws. Or you can always move to a communist and socialist country that you can be happy for the rest of your life.

Biden and Trump have a common thread. They are too old. Both parties need to promote younger candidates. The press is so relentless that quality candidates are rarely attracted to the political arena.

What an idiot column. This site is supposed to be unbiased, but this column is about trivia. When One of the major candidates is spreading complete lies about a stollen 2020 election why does it make any sense at all to talk about Biden being a liar? He has been very straight on getting an infrastructure bill passed, on cutting the U.S. deficit by 1.4 trillion dollars, about defending Ukraine, … Why would any unbiased journalist not focus on issues that are real and focus on whether someone could own a cannon in the 18th Century? He did discuss the shootings, which this author somehow missed. The only one who looks like a complete idiot is this author.

I AM A 86 YEARS OLD WOMAN AND I DIDN’T find too much to complain about, but then I like Joe. He is a good old boy, served us for years and likes to talk about it.

When you get really old, you will be more understanding, I promise you that!!

    Biden a fool?
Well let’s see, he is a Democrat, He has alienated the UAE and Saudi Arabia (drove them into the arms of China). He has pushed the Chinese and Russians into a formal alliance against the USA. He has pushed the North Koreans to perfect and expand their nuclear missile technology, while under President Trump, they had taken an hiatus. He has pushed Ukraine to keep provoking Russia, to the point of a nuclear strike. His administration has continued the political persecution of President Trump. To the point that they have now opened a pandora’s box.

    So, is Biden a fool?

Some people make a big deal out of nothing. Bye the way, I too love ice cream. It is a genuine American confection. I wish the author and some of the commentators would get enraged at the Republicans who vote against reasonable assault weapons restrictions. Maybe some children would still be alive.
